7K a year 1 hour ago 1 hour ago 1 hour ago The MACHINING INSPECTOR is responsible for providing and recording accurate and timely in-process and final inspections of fabricated and machined steel products.
Role and Responsibilities Responsible for the examination of fabricated and machined steel products to customer specifications using Measuring and Test Equipment such as OD/ID micrometers, thread gauges, calipers, etc.
Interpret and evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications and procedures Responsible for the care and operation of the FARO laser Select, calibrate, or operate equipment used in nob-destructive testing of products and materials.
Visually examine materials, structures, components using tools and equipment such as borescopes for signs of corrosion, metal fatigue, cracks or other flaws Responsible for keeping details for our Measurement traceability in the Calibration Plan and listing and monitoring all measuring equipment electronically in the Gauge Calibration Records Log Responsible to assure that M&TE is properly identified on the Equipment List and is recalled before calibration is expired.
May initiate Non-Conforming Material Reports if products fall outside of the specification Implement Corrective & Preventative actions when deemed necessary by Director of Quality Assurance or Quality Control Manager Aide in the continual improvement of our QMS as it applies to machining inspection process QUALIFICATIONS Experience as a machinist or machining inspection Must have experience reading detailed blue prints or drawings Must be able to read and interpret tape measure, micrometers, calipers, depth micrometers, bore gauges Have an understanding of geometric tolerance symbols and meanings Ability to do shop math, figure bolt circles, some trigonometry functions Knowledge of GD&T is mandatory Computer Proficient especially Microsoft Office and Excel Must keep detailed inspection reports or records Must be available to work weekends and evenings as necessary Must be able to work in elevated positions, on ladders, man lifts, large machine platforms Must work well with others Job Type:
