A Burning Technician, is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations in the burning department.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Measures and verifies correct size steel and grade before burning Sets up burning machine for best quality of cut and efficiency for material use Accurately cuts material per customer order/drawings Monitors the burning process to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, etc.
Accurately marks/identifies material for further process including job number Returns unused steel to stock Marks all drops with heat numbers, plate number, job numbers, etc.
Signals crane operators safely to move heavy steel plates and parts Cleans table, worksites, facilities and jobs Load, unload, haul raw materials or tools ABILITIES/QUALIFICATIONS Ability to use tape measure to verify correct size of material Ability to follow directions Ability to learn new tasks and operate tools and machinery Ability to follow safety instructions, proper use of PPE and attend safety training and apply to their job position Reliable and trustworthy Job Type:
