A Cannabis Sales Associate is the second point of contact in the dispensary.
He or she will be mainly consulting with patients/purchasers on a one to one basis.
The CSA will be responsible for maintaining knowledge on all varieties of cannabis product and be able to assist patients/purchasers requiring information and recommendations on all items available.
SUPERVISED BY:
Dispensary Manager TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a busy cannabis dispensary.
Will be in almost constant contact with patients, purchasers and co-workers.
Work can be stressful and may include dealing with difficult consumer demands.
Will assist by taking orders using a computer tablet and help with self-service kiosk users if warranted.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Have extensive knowledge of cannabis, and cannabis by products; as well as their application.
Must be able to recommend different types of cannabis and products for different outcomes.
Must keep current with the dispensary flow & product locations.
Keeping display and dispensary area clean and tidy.
Knowledgeable about ancillary cannabis products and able to demonstrate basic usage.
Will be required to perform cash and credit card transactions, as well as issuing of receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to patients/purchasers.
Recall of company, state & federal procedures & policies.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
Must be able to have a calm and pleasant demeanor towards all individuals at the dispensary.
Has knowledge of cannabis laws, cannabis effects, and conditions that can be treated with cannabis.
Have the ability to sell product efficiently and with accuracy.
Be able to communicate personal knowledge of cannabis effects to others, clearly and enthusiastically.
Possess the ability to communicate effectively in all situations.
Be open to learning about news, literature, or legal progress on cannabis.
Be present for lectures and/or training sessions on new items, or research on cannabinoids.
Keep up with the pace of new strains and concentrates, new products, prices, and the other variable elements of the dispensary.
Retail Cashier duties such as scanning, counting and reconciling transactions.
Must be open to accepting other roles and/or jobs assigned.
EDUCATION/
Experience:
Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Accounting software, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Point of Sale software, 10-key, magnetic stripe reader, or experience with cannabis software is highly desirable.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work requires periods of prolonged sitting and standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching.
Requires normal range of hearing.
Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a cash register, computer, telephone, calculator, barcode scanner, receipt & label printers, etc.
May require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
